Wort Kettle is a large brewing vessel used in the beer-making process. After the initial mashing process, where starches are converted into sugars, the resulting liquid is known as wort. The wort is then transferred into the Wort Kettle, where it is boiled for varying lengths of time depending on the recipe. During this boiling process, hops are often added for flavor and bitterness. Moreover, Wort Kettle also serves several other important functions in the brewing process. It can be used to steep the grains and hops, which add flavor and aroma to the beer. Boiling the wort in the kettle not only sterilizes it, but also helps to concentrate the liquid and break down proteins so that they can more easily be removed during the fermentation process.
